Kevin,
Finally, some transparency.
While we received a setback yesterday when Republican senators voted along party lines against the DISCLOSE Act, the Republicans made one thing absolutely clear to Missouri voters: they think big corporate bigwigs and billionaires have the right to drown out the people with their anonymous money. And in just three weeks, Republican voters in Missouri will finally give us a clear opponent in this race — one who actually discloses their donors.
Unlike shady special interest groups, candidates for federal office have to reveal who funds their campaigns — and in 21 days, the Republican Party will nominate their choice for U.S. Senate. But while we’ll know who is donating to my opponent, the anonymous attack ads against me won’t stop.
In order for us to have the resources to fight back against a public opponent in addition to the secret ones, we need to raise $125,000 before the August 7th Republican primary. Please make a $5 donation today:

Even though I don’t know which of the three Republican primary candidates will win, I do know that whomever they nominate will make former Missouri officeholder, Attorney General John Ashcroft look like a liberal.
All three want to privatize Social Security, privatize Medicare, defund federal student loans, eliminate preventative health services for women, and continue giving taxpayer subsidies to big oil.
In order to win the Republican nomination, they’ve pandered to the Tea Party in a race to the far right. And not a single one hesitated before sprinting in that direction.
The U.S. Senate doesn’t need another Tea Party rubber stamp. It needs someone willing to fight for Missouri families.
When Missouri learns about my opponent — whomever it ends up being — I’m confident voters will join our fight to save the middle class in America.
Thanks for your continued support,
Claire
