Democrats in Kansas gain 13 seats as Kobach flees sinking ship

Fellow Democrats,
I know many of you are profoundly disappointed at the thought of a Trump presidency, as I am. But we must stay strong, focused, and involved – and we must celebrate the remarkable victories we won here in Kansas.
Friends, we saw 13 victories in the Kansas House. Not since the 1970s have Kansas Democrats picked up that many seats in a single cycle. We picked up a Senate seat as well, and we will only continue to prevail as we move forward. I’d like to congratulate and welcome our new Democratic members of the legislature, and also congratulate those candidates that fought so incredibly hard to better our state. Our candidates ran splendid campaigns, worked tirelessly, and we are so proud of them regardless of the outcome. It was an uplifting experience to see so many excellent candidates step up to the plate and devote their time, talent, and energy to changing the direction of public policy in Kansas. There will be many more opportunities for these amazing candidates to run again – and win.
We must remain steadfast in our dedication to our Party and its values. We are on the right side of history, and we had a great run this year. The future is ours. Thank you for your uncommon commitment to the Democratic Party, its principles, and people.
Democratically yours,
Lee Kinch

    Today’s Devotional

    Romans 12:1-8

12I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.
3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of yourself more highly than you ought to think, but to think with sober judgement, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. 4For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, 5so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. 6We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us: prophecy, in proportion to faith; 7ministry, in ministering; the teacher, in teaching; 8the exhorter, in exhortation; the giver, in generosity; the leader, in diligence; the compassionate, in cheerfulness.
