Comfort, comfort my people, says your God….
Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low;
the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.

Everything is harder than it should be, don’t you think?  I bought a new computer recently. Now, for a while at least, everything takes twice as long.  And why is traffic so heavy?  And for that matter, why is violence and racism and poverty so everywhere?  Haven’t we been working on these things? Forgive me, I’m whining.  I like to call it lament.  This Advent, I’m trying to take in Isaiah’s words of comfort.  Someday the mountains will not stand in our way; the ground will be level and smooth.  Come soon, Lord Jesus.
