More on Love Languages

Here are your practical suggestions for speaking the love languages this week:

Hi Kevin Anthony Stoda,

Your relationships are important. It is, therefore, our desire to equip you with tools that will help you grow closer with those you love. In this week’s email, you’ll find five suggestions for practically speaking the love languages. We want to encourage you to try them, customize them, or let them spur you to greater creativity in expressing your love or appreciation to others.

Everything we send in our newsletter is based on the concepts introduced in Gary Chapman’s bestseller: The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts. We think you’ll agree that its messages and success stories are both inspiring and transformational.

Here are your practical suggestions for speaking the love languages this week:

Words of Affirmation:
Make a video recording for a loved one, remembering cherished times spent together. You could even film it in some of your favorite places or include encouraging words from other people in your film to create a keepsake that will be watched over and over.

Acts of Service:
Another way to say “I love you” can be “let me take care of that for you.” Ask yourself what you can do to make someone’s life a little easier and do it gladly, showing them that their well-being is important to you.

Receiving Gifts:
Keep a special note on your phone and when your spouse or loved one mentions an object in passing that they have their eye on or wish they could purchase, jot it down. The list will come in handy around a birthday, or even just when you’re ready to surprise them with a gift you KNOW they’ll love!

Quality Time:
Make a shoebox time capsule with your children, including old memories or stories, photographs, and artwork. Not only is this a fun bonding activity now, but think how much fun it will be to open in 5 or 10 years!

Physical Touch:
Enroll in dancing classes. Dancing might not be everyone’s thing, but with a good attitude and some practice it can be a great way to spend time together, engage in meaningful physical touch, and show your loved one that you care, all while getting exercise!
