Assad’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Needs to be Stopped–Who can or will do it?

Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation

Friends,

Yesterday, we found out about a horrific chemical weapons attack in Syria. Because of their indiscriminate and heinous capabilities, chemical weapons are explicitly banned under international law. But for the Assad regime and its enablers, international law is meaningless.

The images broadcast around the world of the perished and wounded – including children – were harrowing, to say the least.

Amidst the chaos, news organizations were desperately seeking expert information and interviews as soon as possible. The Center’s Scientists Working Group took up the call. Our experts went on live television networks around the globe to brief audiences about this abhorrent attack against humanity.

Our expertise on all issues of arms control — chemical, biological, and nuclear — is needed now more than ever. Will you chip in $5 to keep the world informed and to help ensure these weapons can never be used again?

Thank you for all you do.

Sincerely,

John Tierney
