“You give them something to eat.”
When we read the bread narratives in Mark we often focus on Jesus multiplying the bread and fish. We often miss how he involved the disciples. On both occasions, Jesus deputized the disciples to join the bread business. He instructed them to look for food, organize the people in groups, distribute the bread and fish. We, likewise, are invited into God’s bread business. We must give them something to eat!
