“ICE has allowed my dad to stay another month, and file a longer-term “stay of removal” application. The fight’s not over, but this is an important step forward”

Dear Kevin,

Thank you so much for what you’re doing for my family! When we walked into my dad’s meeting with ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) yesterday — carrying more than 20,000 of your petition signatures — we didn’t know what to expect. We thought they could deport him on the spot or tell him he had to jump on a plane in a few days and leave the country. But I have good news: we stopped ICE from deporting my father, for now.

Will you chip in to keep this fight going? Click here to make a donation to help my family with expenses related to fighting my father’s deportation and to support Presente’s work on this campaign and other deportation defense campaigns.

ICE has allowed my dad to stay another month, and file a longer-term “stay of removal” application. The fight’s not over, but this is an important step forward, and your support made a big difference — when we walked in, ICE already knew about the petitions and media coverage of my father’s case.

Please contribute so we can keep my dad here with our family and make sure other families are not separated by ICE.

I can’t tell you how much your support means to me and my family. Your petition signatures and phone calls have already made a difference, and we’re incredibly grateful. We will keep you posted and let you know when there are other ways you can help.

Sincerely,

Maria Martinez

P.S. A news article was just published about what happened, and it mentions your petition signatures – you can read it here.
