Kevin,

Since Trump’s announcement last week, 125 mayors and 9 governors across the US have denounced this move, and publicly stated that they will remain in the Paris Agreement, with some even going further and committing to 100% renewable energy.

This is our opportunity to thank those who are still in — and to push other public officials to follow their lead. Coordinated, ambitious local action is how we can build power and defeat the fossil fuel industry.

On June 10th, we’re going to mobilize at City Halls and Statehouses across the country to defend the Paris Agreement and push public officials to #ActOnClimate by stopping new fossil fuel projects and moving our country towards 100% renewable energy.

Can you join or host an action on Saturday to get your community to #ActOnClimate?

We’re joined by a large coalition of progressive organizations ready to push for local climate action in the wake of this disastrous and dangerous decision by Trump. Together we can show it’s not the end for the Paris Agreement, or real climate action. Far from it.

In the U.S. hundreds of cities and states have already declared that they’re still in the Paris Agreement, no matter what Trump says. So let’s celebrate — and push for more.
If we can get more public officials to step up their commitments in this moment, not only will we continue to build resistance to Trump’s fossil fuel agenda, we’ll build local power that moves us rapidly towards a 100% clean energy future.

Find an #ActOnClimate rally near you — or host one if there isn’t anything on the map yet. We’ll walk you through organizing it step by step, and even a handful of people can make a difference at this time.

This moment calls for resolve, not despair. Thank you for being a part of it.

Sincerely,
Vanessa Green
