KEITH SPRUNGER AUTHORS ARTICLES IN KANSAS HISTORY JOURNAL

“‘Old Main’ at Kansas Colleges: Splendor, Survival, and Loss,” appears in Kansas History, the Autumn  2015 issue, and tells the story of Bethel’s Ad Building and similar buildings at other Kansas colleges.

Most colleges have lost their original buildings for one reason or another. Only three in our area of the state have maintained their original “Old Main.”

A second recent Sprunger article is “Sacred Simplicity: Postwar Mennonite ‘Church’ Architecture in Kansas,” in Kansas History, Autumn 2016 issue, and co-authored by Sprunger and Jay Price. The article includes Bethel College Mennonite Church in a survey of Mennonite church architecture in Kansas.
