Flipping the Script and Teaching from the Women’s Perspective

“So many times, especially as young women of color, people are trying to tell their stories for them and we want to empower them to be able to tell their own stories.”School is in SessionDear Kevin,

On behalf of our entire school community, I want to share how grateful we are to be back to 100% in-person learning. It is a wonderful feeling to walk through the hallways, watch and listen to group work, and observe our students and team truly coming back together. As we seek to reconnect and reignite our shared love of learning, we’re gratified to have received some wonderful news coverage this past week:

Rae Daniel, from KSHB 41 did a beautiful job capturing the excitement and energy of our return to school. And KCUR’s Up to Date did a segment called Flipping the Script and Teaching from the Women’s Perspective where we were able to share more about our values and  long-term vision.

“We’re not going to undo 400 years of oppression in one school year…but I guarantee we are going to actively work against it so that when our scholars leave our space they have the tools necessary to dismantle the system”With your partnership, we can’t wait to build on this momentum.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support!Tara Haskins
