Passing on my suggestion and concerns to the DCCC and Sharice Davids: “Use a reduction in armed forces (bases in 177 countries) and out-of-control DOD spending to pay for Green New Deal Infrastructure, Schools, & Medicare for All.”

By Kevin Stoda

I don’t know how many thousands or millions (other than myself) receive the monthly DCCC surveys about the interests and priorities of the Democratic Party. I receive them and provide feedback regularly by email and snail mail. What about you–do you get them too?

I enjoy participating in the surveys and getting an opportunity to share my voice on the issues of the day, however, these surveys always leave out one key or major foreign policy decision which also adversely affects our domestic tranquility and national development year-after-year.

This is namely the fact that year-after-year, some 70+% of our national discretionary budget goes for paying down debt and commitments for our previously poor and questionable misadventures & follies of war and out-of-control over-extended jingoistic hysteria which have led to
unimaginable losses of life, of arrest of economic development, and creation of abnormal social development here in America. (The founding fathers of the USA would cry in shame at what we have done with the wealth and the commonwealth bequeathed upon us generation.)

In the 24+ questions which I find on these surveys each time, we are participants are NEVER asked by the DCCC:

1—Should we take a peace dividend for the next generations and reduce our wastefulness in terms of Defense and Security budgets and dependencies around the world?

Yes or No

I would say YES and so should most Americans with a large shout!

We could and should also be asked:

2–How are we going to pay for the Green New Deal and the needed infrastructural changes which need to be undertaken to reduce the most devastating developments of climate changes in this century?

My response would be and is as follows:

Take the money from wasteful defensive and defense spending that makes our world less safe than before and reduce thereby the number and percent of future victims and costs of war (often hidden in the non-discretionary budget).

I met my new US Congresswoman Sharice Davids today at the Reardon Convention Center here in Kansas City, Kansas .

I told her the same thing. “Don’t let others say that the Green New Deal is too expensive. The money is there–just take it from out-of-control military spending and demand better foreign policies. We can also use that money to set up the Medicare-for-all that we need and to pay for our schools.”

More Americans need to demand this of the DCCC and of whomever they support in government.

I hope the new congresswoman from Kansas looks into the matter as she promised she would.
